Mount Sinai researchers are pioneering the use of non-invasive stickers placed on the skin to give the equivalent of a skin biopsy for pediatric patients suspected of having inflammatory bowel disease. The skin cells retrieved by the tapes can show immune problems both in the skin and more broadly in the body, including the gut.
