Clinicians at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE) used adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO) to capture, for the first time high-definition images of solar retinopathy, a rare form of retinal injury that results from directly gazing into the sun.
